Stamford Advocate

  • On the Saugatuck Reservoir, a 9 1/2-pound 23-inch Seeforellen brown trout taken on a blue and silver Krocodile lure.
  • On the Mianus River, a 6 pound, 5 ounce brown trout using a white Rooster Tail tied onto a 4 pound test line. Also on the Mianus a 6lb 3 ounce brown trout was caught using trout worms.
  • On the Norwalk River a 5-pound, 12-ounce brown trout was caught with a trout worm.
  • The Silvermine River gave up a 1lb 10oz brown trout with a nightcrawler.
  • The Mianus Trout Mgmt Area gave up a 16” Rainbow trout with a Mickey Finn fly.
  • Stripers were being caught in Greenwich using mackerel chunks and a Finesse lure. Tod’s Point was also productive.
  • Darien anglers caught stripers success using a 10-inch Finesse lure.
  • In Stamford a 32 inch striper was caught using a 7 ½ inch Finesse lure.
  • Stripers were caught off of IBM in Shippan and using claims.
  • A dozen winter flounder were caught from a pier in Norwalk Harbor. Anglers used lots of chum to attract the fish and sandworms for bait.
